I had to share this little country gem we found while venturing about Highland County Maple Festival last month. Located in McDowell, Virginia, Sugar Tree was like a step back in time; from the antiquity filled shelves, foot print laden and worn floors to the old wood stove warming patrons.
The sun streaming onto home-made goods through the double front doors took me back to my childhood visits to the old Five and Dime in my small hometown of Clyde, Ohio.
And, of course, as with any building I have to check out its architectural nuances.
And among the gingham, wall hung treasures…
and pickle pleasures,
the smallest of creature understood the appeal to whiling away the day here.
